Life-altering Circumstances Become Inspiration for Poetry Book

Atlanta, Dec 12, 2018 ( – Poet Constance Roslinda Garys sophomore book, Be! Live! is an inspiring anthology of poems that reflect on unexpected circumstances that have beset her life. The collection glosses over several personal issues that Gary has battled with through the years. Now, 72 years old, she is confident that her writing can be a source of insight and encouragement.

Gary had been inspired to write Be! Live! because of the various obstacles, she has overcome. She endured a brutal divorce that rendered her and her three daughters homeless. She experienced not having enough food to eat and even sleeping in a car for more than a month. Surviving these tribulations further strengthened her faith in God and made her a stronger person.

The poems creatively infuse quotations from the Bible with the authors own words. Her poetry describes her relationship with God and hopes that readers will be comforted with the same love and compassion that she has experienced. She says that losing everything that she valued in life left her abused, abandoned and mentally devastated but shes thankful that she found a personal relationship with Jesus

Gary is also the author of another poetry book, Pain Killer, which tackles the struggles of dealing with depression and despair. This particular collection highlights how the past has wounded us and no matter how much painkillers we ingest, we still suffer. Gary contends that maybe the pain is beyond skin deep and offers poetry as a way to cope with the stress and trauma of it all.
