Mumbai, Feb 9, 2019 (Issuewire.com) – Dr D. Y. Patil School of Management organized a two days National Conference on 7th & 8th February 2019. The Agenda for this seminar was Business Education and Capacity Building: Skills, Innovation & Entrepreneurship.
It successfully commenced under the able leadership of Dr. E. B. Khedkar, Vice-Chancellor Ajeenkya D.Y. Patil University along with the honorable Chief Guest Dr. Prafulla Pawar – Dean Faculty of Commerce and Management, SPPU, Registrar, SPPU, Guest of Honor – Dr. Ripu Ranjan. Other Key Note Speakers were Dr. B.K. Gupta, Dr. Kuldeep Charak, Ketan Gandhi, Dr. Manimala Puri, Dr. Kamaljeet Kaur, and Dr. Vinay Kandpal.

Dr E. B. Khedkar in his address emphasized on Skill Development of Students. He stated that 54% of the population is youth and hence revolution is required for the development of demographic dividend. In the absence of skill development, it would be difficult for entrepreneurs and Business Enterprises to succeed.
Chief Guest Dr Prafulla Pawar dwelled at length on issues of economic development and unemployment. He opined that employability is the single most important challenge and further went on to quote the ILO (International Labour Organisation) and stated that nearly 1.20 million youth are expected to join the workforce by 2020. He was all praise for the feet that the Indian economy is the sixth largest in the world and is growing at 7.3% per annum.
On Day Two, Dr K. S. Gupta spoke on Innovation in Education and need of Capacity Building in todays competitive scenario. Also, Dr Vinod Malkar focused on the role of Business Education System fostering Entrepreneurship Skill Development and Innovation.
During the post-lunch session, the eminent speakers were Dr E. B. Khedkar, Dr Satish Sharma, Dr Rajiv Ranjan Dubey, Mr Rajesh Bagga, Dr Shrirang Altekar, Dr Panchnathan, Dr B. Ramesh, Prof.Pragnesh Shah & Dr O. P. Haldar. They shared their experiences & views with the students on Skill development, Skill Ecosystem Issues and Challenges in Industries. The students benefitted from their rich experience and expertise over the years.
