Overwhelming Response to 9th International Business Conference

Mumbai, Mar 15, 2019 (Issuewire.com) – Nearly four hundred delegates and students participated at the much awaited 9th International Business Conference organised by the D.Y.Patil deemed to be University School of Management, in association with Indo.Global Chamber of Commerce. Other event associates included the Indian Merchant Chamber (IMC) and the World Trade Centre (WTC) among others. This exciting event was held at the auditorium of School of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, D.Y.Patil University, Navi Mumbai.

Prof. Dr R. Gopal, Director, Dean and Head of the Department of Business Management at D.Y.Patil University, School of Management, welcomed the guests, speakers and said that the theme of the seminar is extremely relevant. He said that on one hand the agriculture sector and the manufacturing sector is not growing at the desired rate. However, the services sector is growing rapidly.

The service sector is the fastest growing area and it is in this sector that there is a large amount of employment generated.

Some examples can be found in the area of digital marketing, market research companies.

The DYPUSM helps the budding entrepreneur by providing a virtual incubation cell.

He averred that almost 15% of the students of DYPUSM  normally become entrepreneurs.

Dr Rupa Naik, Senior Director, World Trade Centre, said for entrepreneurship to succeed there is a need to have a fire in the belly.

Mr Sanjay Shrivastava, CEO, Munzer Bharat Pvt. Ltd. said that he had developed a process of converting used cooking oil into biodiversity oil which can be mixed with diesel and used as automobile fuel.

Mr Ramdad Karbande, Chairman of the Mumbai Tiffin Box Suppliers Association spoke about the extremely low error in the distribution of the dabbas or the tiffins.

He mentioned that the error is about 1 in 6 million tiffins

Waleed Chabukswar, MBA student and a budding entrepreneur said there was a lot of learning in this seminar.  He said the seminar highlighted some of the challenges a young entrepreneur faced.

He hoped that there would be many such seminars.
