New York City, Mar 25, 2019 ( – Mickie Dye is currently a Forensic Nurse Examiner with Advocacy Center Waco and a Medical Administrative Assistant for the Advocacy Center for Crime Victims and Children. She holds nearly a decade of experience in her field, where she holds expertise in Sexual Assault Forensic Examination, Emergency, and Cardiac Care. Prior to getting her nursing degree, Mickie was a professional firefighter /paramedic for 25 years for the Dallas Fire Rescue Department.

There is hope and restoration at the Advocacy Center. The Advocacy Center for Crime Victims and Children began in 1976 as the Waco Rape Crisis Center. It has grown into an umbrella agency with three programs, the Children’s Advocacy Center.

Mickie gained her nursing degree and certification as a registered nurse from the Mclennan Community College. Additionally, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Arlington.

To stay up to date in her field she remains a professional member of the International Association of Forensic Nurses and the Texas Nurses Association and is the Former President of the National Student Nurses Association. The Texas Nurses Association (TNA) is a statewide membership-based professional association of licensed nurses. Founded in 1907, TNA is the oldest and largest nursing association in Texas.

Mickie chose a career due to her inspiration from her grandmother. She attributes her professional success to her stubbornest, love of nursing and providing care to patients. When not working, she enjoys Swimming, Art, and Reading Forensics.
