Sequoia – Backed GoMechanic Reveals a New Brand Identity

Gurgaon, Mar 26, 2019 ( – Gurugram, 21st February 2019: Gurugram based GoMechanic; a network of multi-brand car service centres has announced a new face for its startup. Founded in April 2016 by IIM-A grads, Amit Bhasin and Kushal Karwa; GoMechanic offers a variety of hassle-free and pocket-friendly car services.

#GoSmart is the idea behind this extensive rebranding initiative with which GoMechanic aims to overhaul its on-ground operations, brand awareness strategies while putting equal focus on affiliate partnerships and expansion. Going ahead, GoMechanic is also working on revamping their website and app to provide a more simpler and user-friendly experience to the customer.

Speaking on this, Kushal comments “Our rebranding is a step in the right direction, armed with this new zeal, we are certain that we are going to bring order to this unorganised sector”. Amit adds “As of now, we are standing more than 1,50,000 customers strong and with the recent backing and brand new identity, we will drive the next change in the car service industry“. GoMechanic has also boosted its workforce with an increased team strength of more than 100 employees in the past 6 months.

“The new logo and tagline beautifully reflect our brand ethos that is built on technology. In this day and age of smart everything, there is a dire need of smart car servicing” says design lead, Nirupam Bharadwaj.

Headquartered in the millennium city of Gurugram with key operations covering Delhi NCR, Mumbai and Pune, GoMechanic has since expanded to Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

At its initial stage, this 3-year old venture raised funding from angel investor Dhianu Das and Orios Venture Catalysts. In June 2016, Big Oil; Exxon Mobile partnered with GoMechanic as its exclusive lubricant partner. In January 2019, coinciding with its rebranding campaign, GoMechanic successfully secured $4.9 in a funding round led by Sequoia Capital. Snapdeal’s Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal are also among its investors.

GoMechanic offers car service starting at 1999 and a customer can book their car service either on their website, on call or using the Android app. Its business model comprises of bulk procurement of spare parts, technology implementation, standardising partner workshops, centralised billing and invoicing and after sales which cuts down on operational cost by up to 40% which is passed on to the customer as savings. With over 150+ workshops across Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad and Bengaluru and service capacity of over 7000 cars a month, GoMechanic is the preferred car service partner for the ride-hailing giant UBER.
