Rev. Tim Langdell Offers Palliative Chaplain Services in the Pasadena Area

Rev. Langdell has a wide variety of experience in many subject areas, and he credits his multiple backgrounds with allowing him to provide the best palliative care possible. He began his career as a psychologist, starting his formal training at the University of Leicester, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. He moved on to the University of Nottingham, where he received a Master of Arts in Clinical and Educational Psychology. Rev. Langdell completed his psychological training at the University College London, where he received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology.

This psychological background allows Rev. Langdell to communicate with his palliative care patients in a more nuanced manner than other hospice chaplains. Through his hospice chaplain services, Rev. Langdell aims to use his psychological training to help ease the end of life process for sick and dying patients, specifically cancer patients.

In addition, Rev. Langdell is a Zen Buddhist priest and can provide palliative chaplain services to patients of both Zen and Christian faiths. He is a master Zen teacher and serves as the abbot of the Pasadena Zen Center, also known as the Still Center. Rev. Langdell studies religion and spirituality in his free time, allowing him to sharpen the guidance he provides to his palliative care patients as a chaplain. Rev. Langdell also holds a Master of Divinity from the Claremont School of Theology.
