‘Rocknrollstarwars’ comes from old school skateboarding and a love of the quirky side of British popular (youth) culture, that doesn’t take itself too seriously. This is highlighted by the choice of venue a public house which will see the launch night put the art back in the party.

JR paintings are colourful, noisy, fun and peculiar. A mix of graffiti, abstract, street and pop-art, initially with as much paint scratched or rubbed off as applied on. Then reshaped with layers of bold colour, or fine lines, or messy blobs, or angular shapes which together form odd backdrops of humorous future landscapes with twitchy blurred figures lurking within. Or something. Images can be viewed on Justin’s intagram account

A finalist in Artist and Illustrator magazines artist of the year 2019, and with his art now available on Justin’s art is becoming increasingly popular. After studying at West Sussex College of Design and Sussex University JR has returned to art after amongst other things hosting club nights and managing pubs in the vibrant city of Brighton and Hove in which his talent for design was utilised in creation of promotional materials.
