Darwin Durr has lived his life surrounded by Black men and women loyal to the Democratic party with no positive results or extenuating changes. As a resident of lower-income, urban neighborhoods, he believes that it’s time for a change in thought.

Durr’s second book, Pushed Right of Center, explores why he has moved away from the mass hysteria of Democratic policies and has more readily embraced conservatism. While he discusses several reasons for doing so, including taxes and lack of opportunities for former prisoners, Durr uses logic and thought – neither being exceptionally condescending to Democrats, nor having a blind eye to Democrats who have policies in alignment with his personal views.

“My entire family is filled with Democrats. My wife even trends blue. I can admit it; there’s a sense of solace that graces my worries when seeing candidates such as Andrew Yang and Pete Buttigieg running on the Democratic ticket.  Even though I won’t be voting for them, it’s a relief to see that our country still has people of authentic character on the Left — people who are not mere panderers of manipulative practices. These two guys have very interesting points that I think the Right needs to adopt, especially regarding healthcare repairs and the threat of automation.”

Darwin Durr was born and raised in the nation’s capital, so he is no stranger to politics in his backyard; in fact, he even includes a policy of his own within the book. Pushed Right of Center can be found on all major book outlets, including Barnes and Noble.
