Nurse Kujaski was born in Okinawa, Japan, She vividly recalls accompanying her mother to the nurse-midwife in her village and seeing the way the mothers to be were attended to and the care they were given. She enrolled in City College in San Francisco and had not yet decided on a major or an educational path. One of the courses she took was a health education class. It piqued her interest and from that one class, she decided on a career in nursing. She earned her bachelor’s degree in 1979 from San Francisco State University (SFU), a public urban university ‘with a conscience’ located in one of the world’s most vibrant and beautiful cities in the world.

Nurse Kujaski is employed by Kaiser Permanente, Founded in 1945, Kaiser Permanente is recognized as one of America’s leading health care providers and not-for-profit health plans. They current serve 12.2 patients in 8 states and the District of Columbia.

She is a member of the National Association of Neonatal Nurses; a professional organization whose mission is to address the educational and practice needs within the evolving specialty of neonatal nursing, while giving all neonatal nurses national representation.

Nurse Kujaski’s compassion for her patients is evidence of her commitment to providing the best possible outcomes and experience for mother and baby.
