District of Columbia, Sep 20, 2019 ( – Today, so many millennials are finding themselves unemployed, underemployed, or unfulfilled at a dead job. In fact, that’s were newly self-published author Ashley Shante found herself on April 25, 2019. Ashley Shante was laid off from a small firm in Southern Illinois on short notice. The layoff was unexpected, and Ashley had unpaid expenses, a son, and no savings. The storm of unemployment had taken place but instead of diving into worrying, she picked up the pen and dived into writing. She discovered Amazon’s free publishing service and published her poetry book “Black Girl Eyez”.

Ashley Shante wrote “Black Girl Eyez” Poetry book in 7 days and published it on Amazon in one night! The Ebook version called “Black Girl Tears” sold over 100 digital copies during Amazon’s free book promotion with in the first week of being published. In addition, the book was accepted into libraries such as the O’fallon Public Library and the Edwardsville Public Library in Illinois. Also, “Black Girl Eyez” paperback version book is available for purchase on Amazon under Ashley’s pen name which is Ashley Shante.

Ashley Shante wants “Black Girl Eyez” to enlighten millions of readers and give them a new set of “Eyez” on societal issues in the world.  “Black Girl Eyez” is more than a poetry book, it is a gumbo of lyrical expression that will feed the hearts of poetry lovers.
